Growing up in a large, food-loving family of nine, Marlene has always been surrounded by food. Big family dinners were a daily event. “My mother practically lived in the kitchen, and at the age of 85 still does,” says Marlene. By the time she was a teen Marlene found her own niche in the kitchen by taking culinary classes and following her sweet tooth to become the family baker.

Known as a “magician in the kitchen,” Marlene makes life easier for families worldwide with her incredible tasting better-for-you recipes “that everyone can enjoy!” Marlene Koch (pronounced cook), is a nationally recognized nutritionist, popular TV personality and New York Times best-selling author who delivers good health with great taste! With over one million cookbooks sold, she’s a regular guest on QVC and her books and recipes have appeared on television programs including The Today Show, Fox & Friends, and The Food Network, as well as in countless magazines and newspapers including Cooking Light, Woman’s World, Men’s Fitness, Diabetes Health, the Washington Post and the Chicago Tribune, to name a few.

Marlene’s newest book, Eat More of What You Love: Over 200 Brand New Recipes Low in Sugar, Fat, and Calories (Running Press April 2012) is the sequel to her book Eat What You Love which claimed the title of bestselling cookbook of all time on QVC. A Magna Cum Laude graduate of U.C.L.A., Marlene is a registered dietitian, holds a bachelor’s degree in nutritional science, and is one of a select group of dietitians to hold an advanced certificate in Child and Adolescent Weight Management from the Academy of Nutrition & Dietetics. Marlene has taught chefs across the nation the principles of healthy cooking and eating for the American Culinary Federation and has held the position of adjunct nutrition professor and cooking instructor for Columbus State College and the Columbus State Culinary Academy. Additionally, Marlene’s wit and energetic style have made her a popular speaker and cooking instructor at cooking schools and for leading health organizations. Beyond her cooking expertise, Marlene is a nationally recognized expert in weight loss, diabetes, child and adolescent nutrition, and sugar substitutes.

A California native, Marlene resides in the suburbs near San Francisco with her two healthy, sweet-loving sons and husband, and has a grown step-daughter. She is an active member of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics (formerly the American Dietetic Association), The Food and Culinary Professionals Association, the International Association of Culinary Professionals, and the American Association of Diabetes Educators. An advocate for healthy families, Marlene was honored to be an invited to the White House to help kick off the Chef’s Move to Schools and Michelle Obama’s Let’s Move Campaigns.
