Marne Levine is the vice president of global partnerships, business and corporate development at Facebook, where she works in service of the community of over 2.7 billion people and the diverse ecosystem of partners and developers across the Facebook family of apps and services.

She is responsible for global strategic partnerships, business and corporate development, e-commerce and payment initiatives, platform developer relations, mergers and acquisitions, connectivity efforts, mobile partnerships, and Facebook’s community leadership and social enterprise programs. She manages a variety of businesses, including Facebook Watch, IGTV, Audience Network, Mobile Games, and Workplace.

Previously, Levine served as chief operating officer of Instagram from 2014 to 2018, where she was responsible for helping scale the company’s business and operations globally and turn Instagram from a beloved app into a thriving business. She joined Facebook in 2010 as its first vice president of global policy, a position she held for four years.

Prior to Facebook, Levine served in the Obama administration as chief of staff of the National Economic Council (NEC) at the White House and special assistant to the president for economic policy.

From 2006 to 2008, she was head of product management for Revolution Money, an early-stage startup working on person-to-person online money transfers, which was ultimately sold to American Express. Prior to this, she served as chief of staff to Larry Summers, then president of Harvard University. Levine began her career in 1993 at the United States Department of Treasury under President Bill Clinton, where she held a number of leadership positions.

Levine holds a BA in political science and communications from Miami University and an MBA from the Harvard Business School. She serves on the board of directors for Chegg, along with several nonprofits including LeanIn.org, the Urban Institute, Women for Women International, and the Department of Defense’s Defense Innovation Board. She is a member of the Trilateral Commission.
