Martin Short, a celebrated comedian, writer, singer and actor, has won fans and accolades in television, film and theater since his breakout season on "Saturday Night Live" over 30 years ago.

Initially a professional stage actor, Short first appeared in a Toronto production of Godspell. He then joined The Second City improv company, making his Emmy-winning television debut on the Second City Television Network before joining "Saturday Night Live" as up-and-coming talent.
