Martina Dimoska
Analog Astronaut; Space Entrepreneur; Published Research Scholar & Advocate for Sustainable Innovation in Human Spaceflight
Martina Dimoska is an awarded published research scholar, engineer, and pioneering figure in space exploration on a national, regional, and international scale. As the first Macedonian and female Balkan analog astronaut, Dimoska has held leadership roles on several high-profile space missions, including Lunares' M08 SELENE and ESA-funded ICEE, as well as participating in NASA-supported initiatives. With a Suborbital Space Flight Certification, she is a Senior NASTAR Ambassador and a dynamic advocate for advancing space exploration through innovative technologies such as In-Situ Resource Utilization (ISRU) and material engineering.
A true trailblazer in the space community, Dimoska is internationally recognized by distinguished programs and organizations, including Forbes, Bloomberg, TEDx, and the United Nations. As a Google Women Techmaker Ambassador and recipient of numerous accolades, including a Forbes 30 Under 30 Nomination and the Emerging Space Leader Award from the International Astronautical Federation, she continues to inspire and lead the way for women in STEM.
Dimoska is the founder and president of the International Space Alliance, an organization dedicated to bridging the gap between space agencies, industries, and academia, bringing space opportunities to developing regions.
As a passionate advocate for diversity, she actively promotes inclusivity in space exploration through workshops, social media outreach, and her popular handle @astro_smarta. Dimoska’s contributions are instrumental in shaping the future of space exploration while breaking down barriers for underrepresented groups in the field.
With her academic background in Material Engineering and Nanotechnology, along with a focus on ISRU at the International Space University, Dimoska is committed to advancing sustainable practices for human space exploration.
Dimoska has been featured in numerous books, both as an inspiration and as a co-author, contributing to various anthologies and works that explore topics in space exploration, innovation, and leadership. These collaborations highlight her work in STEM, space technology, and advocacy for women in the field. One of her most beloved ones is The book Life Beyond Us is an anthology edited by Julie Nováková, Lucas K. Law, and Susan Forest. It explores themes of alien life, featuring 27 stories of extraterrestrial encounters, each paired with an essay providing scientific context, where she is one of the authors.
