Vice President for Studies, Carnegie Endowment for International Peace

Marwan Muasher is vice president for studies at Carnegie Endowment for International Peace, overseeing research in Washington and Beirut on the Middle East. From 2007 to 2010, he was senior vice president of external affairs at the World Bank. Muasher served the Jordanian government as a member of the Jordanian Senate, deputy prime minister, foreign minister, an ambassador to the United States, and minister of information and government spokesperson. He also opened Jordan’s first embassy in Israel. He is the author of The Arab Center: The Promise of Moderation and The Second Arab Awakening and the Battle for Pluralism.
