Mary A. Legere is a lieutenant general and the senior Army intelligence officer in the Pentagon. Legere has served for 30 years in positions of increasing responsibility and leadership. She has commanded at all levels, from company command in Korea to the Commanding General of the US Army Intelligence and Security Command based in Fort Belvoir, Virginia, responsible for complex world-wide operations. She has participated in numerous significant missions including Operation Joint Forge in Bosnia-Herzegovina and Operation Iraqi Freedom, where she completed 18 months of combat duty. Legere has earned numerous military awards, including the Distinguished Service Medal, Defense Superior Service Medal, the Legion of Merit, and the Bronze Star Medal.
