Women in Tech Leader; Vice President of Technology at Amazon

Named one of the Top 50 Most Powerful Women in Technology by the National Diversity Council, Mary Beth Westmoreland is Vice President of Technology at Amazon, where she leads a team that builds tools, services and generative AI features that have simplified product listings for two million small- and medium-sized businesses worldwide.

Prior to Amazon, Westmoreland was Chief Technology officer at Blackbaud, the world’s leading cloud software company powering social good. Previously, she served as Vice President of Research and Development at Ipswitch, Inc. and spent 15 years at the Savannah River National Laboratory managing the Enterprise and Technical Systems Engineering organizations.

Westmoreland is a trustee at her alma mater, Immaculata University, where she graduated with a degree in mathematics and physics. She is a member of the advisory board of Clemson University’s College of Engineering, Computing and Applied Sciences, and a founding board member of Charleston Women in Tech.

In 2019, Westmoreland was selected as one of the 120 If/Then “ambassadors” by the American Association for the Advancement of Science and Lyda Hill Philanthropies, whose life-size, 3-D printed likenesses were displayed at the Smithsonian to inspire girls to consider STEM careers.
