Independent Consultant & Corporate Board of Directors for MGM Resorts International

Ms. Gay serves on the Corporate Board of Directors for MGM Resorts International and was fortunate to first be elected to the board in February 2014. Ms. Gay currently serves on the Board’s Audit and Compensation Committees.

Since her departure from Legg Mason, Inc. in 2013, Ms. Gay has been an independent investment consultant focused on helping start-up companies identify potential investors and advisors in their initial and early rounds of investment funding. She is currently working with companies in the technology industry and the health care services field.

Ms. Gay served as a senior vice president and portfolio manager for Legg Mason, Inc. and spent the first 25 years of her career in the financial services industry working for the global asset management firm headquartered in Baltimore, Maryland. Ms. Gay joined Legg Mason in 1989 as part of the Investment Research team as an analyst working directly for the lead portfolio manager of the firm’s flagship mutual fund, the Value Trust. Her primary areas of research coverage included gaming, lodging and hospitality companies. She was named the Assistant Portfolio Manager for the Value Trust and was responsible for representing the flagship strategy to existing and potential investors throughout the world, including institutional and retail investors in over 40 countries. At the firm’s peak in assets, Ms. Gay was responsible for approximately $20bln in client assets. Ms. Gay has been featured in numerous print publications throughout the world describing the firm’s investment strategy and outlook as well as appearing on Bloomberg television in the US and in Europe.

In 2003, Ms. Gay was chosen as one of the top 40 business executives in the Baltimore region under 40 years of age by the Baltimore Business Journal and in 2006, Global Investor Magazine named Ms. Gay as one of the 20 key players for the next generation in asset management. In 2011, Legg Mason nominated Ms. Gay for Network 2000, a non-profit organization with a mission to promote the advancement of women in professional and executive positions. She was selected to be part of the organization and a member of the Mentoring Committee. She served as a member of the United Way of Central Maryland’s Women’s Leadership Council for five years and on the steering committee for the Women’s Leadership Network at Legg Mason, Inc.

Ms. Gay served on the Finance Advisory Board at Loyola College in Maryland and also served as an advisor to the Sellinger Applied Portfolio Fund at Loyola College. She served on the Academy of the Holy Cross Endowed Scholarship Fund based in Kensington, Maryland where she was honored with their Distinguished Alumni Award in 2006. She currently serves as a Trustee of the Severn School in Severna Park, Maryland.

Ms. Gay was fortunate to attend two courses at Harvard Kennedy School’s Executive Education program focused on Investment Decisions and Behavioral Finance during her tenure at Legg Mason. She earned her B.A. in Finance from Towson University and her M.S. in Finance from Loyola University in Maryland.
