Mary C. Daly has held the prestigious position of President and Chief Executive Officer of the Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco since October 2018. An influential figure, Daly has consistently shown her ability to lead, oversee, and inspire in a setting as vast and diverse as the Federal Reserve District - a region that houses one-fifth of the nation's population. With a career at the Bank that began in 1996, Daly's tenure has seen her excel in various roles, including research advisor, vice president, and director of research.

She is a leader and a highly respected researcher, focusing on macroeconomics and labor economics, particularly labor force dynamics and the impacts of monetary and fiscal policy. Her expertise in these areas is reflected in her influential work on wage, employment, and labor force dynamics, economic inequality, and evidence-based public policy. In addition to her role at the Bank, Daly is also a research associate at the IZA Institute of Labor Economics and has held visiting research positions at the Congressional Budget Office and Cornell University's School of Public Policy, among others.
