Mary Sherrill Ware is a native Charlottean who believes in the importance of financial literacy and that high-quality education has the greatest power to change lives locally and globally. She is an alumna of Leadership Charlotte Class 32 and is actively pursuing her Masters Degree in Business Administration from Wake Forest University. Mary is a member of the Junior League of Charlotte and is currently serving as the 2011-2012 JLC Founding Chair of the Knowledge Is Power Program (KIPP) Charlotte Charter School Girls Leadership Program (GLP). As Founding Chair, Mary led her team to create and implement a ten month leadership program for 55 seventh and eighth grade girls with the purpose of empowering girls to see themselves as the future leaders of tomorrow and to equip them with the skills necessary to achieve their goals. Mary joined the KIPP Charlotte Board of Directors in September of 2011. Mary, a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, is a Financial Advisor with Wells Fargo Advisors. She is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER TM practitioner and holds the Certified Investment Management Analyst TM designation. Mary lives in the Southpark neighborhood of Charlotte with her husband, Luke and their Boston terrier.
