Maryum Ali is the eldest of Muhammad Ali's children. She started out in the music industry but decided to refocus herself on social work to help young children.
She has fifteen years of experience in the field of juvenile delinquency prevention and youth development. Maryum has worked with over three hundred youth and their families as a Case Manager and Program Director. She also served as a Regional Manager for the Mayor’s Office of Gang Reduction & Youth Development in the City of Los Angeles.
In 2016, the A&E Network heard about her work in high crime neighborhoods and invited her to participate in their docuseries, “60 Days In,” where she spent time as an undercover inmate in an Indiana jail. Maryum is the author of a children’s picture book about her father titled, "I Shook Up the World: The Incredible Life of Muhammad Ali” that was published in 2003.
