Matt LaVigna      

President & CEO for National Cyber-Forensics & Training Alliance

Matt LaVigna is the President & CEO of the National Cyber Forensics & Training Alliance (NCFTA), a public benefit, not-for-profit organization whose mission is to provide a neutral, collaborative environment for industry, government, and academia to share, analyze, mitigate, and neutralize emerging cyber threats. He brings to the role over 35 years of experience of in-depth experience identifying, developing, implementing and maintaining proactive risk assessments, security strategies, continuity of operations and investigative processes that rationalize security-related business risks.

Prior to joining NCFTA, LaVigna spent over 26 years in the US Secret Service. During his career, he spearheaded criminal investigations in Pittsburgh, New York City, and Washington, DC, while also occupying several prestigious roles, such as serving on the Presidential Protection Detail, acting as an Investigative Fellow for the United States Senate, and playing a foundational role as a founding member of the Department of Homeland Security. He served as the Assistant Special Agent in Charge of the Secret Service Pittsburgh Field Office where he oversaw domestic and international field investigations involving a multitude of criminal violations including counterfeit currency, money laundering, mortgage fraud, and cutting-edge cyber-related offenses.

LaVigna is a certified law enforcement instructor, having taught at the International Law Enforcement Academies in Thailand, Hungary, and El Salvador, and is a US Marine Corps veteran.
