Rev. Matt Peeples is the Lead/Founding Pastor of The Point in Knoxville, TN. He graduated from Concordia Seminary St. Louis in 2009 with his Masters of Divinity. He is the first graduate of the Mid-South’s (LCMS) church plant training program and is the recipient of the Lutheran Church Extention Fund's 2012 Fred E. Lietz Ministry Award. He is passionate about connecting the disconnected, training the next generation of church planters, and preaching the gospel.

Pastor Matt is a passionate speaker who is well versed in the areas of: church planting, using social media to reach out and grow your church, community outreach and event marketing, mainstream marketing, outreach to Millenials, preaching to and teaching the disconnected. Notable engagements include:20015 Keynote Speaker for The Day of Homiletic Reflection; 2015 Preacher For Valparaiso University's Walter Wangerin, Jr., Celebration of Preaching Series.

Pastor Matt founded The Point church on August 22 of 2010 with the simple mission of connecting the disconnected (lost) to a growing and reproducing relationship with Christ in Knoxville. Since its founding The Point uses a unique mix of community events, branding, advertising, and social media to reach out to the disconnected. The Point also leverages social media and mobile apps to connect and disciple the disconnected. In 2012 The Point became the second official church plant training center in the Mid-South district of the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod. To date the average visitor to The Point is 10-20 years disconnect from the church if they have ever attended the church. The Point also leverages social media and mobile apps to connect and disciple the disconnected.
