Matthew Poepsel leads the professional services team for Compuware’s Application Performance Management (APM) business unit. This includes the Gomez Benchmark practice which gives companies insight into their performance, while also comparing it to their competition. Poepsel also manages consulting and educational offerings for the company as they relate to APM.

Prior to joining Compuware, Poepsel served as Vice President of Performance Services for Gomez, Inc., which was acquired by Compuware in November 2009. In his decade with Gomez, Poepsel held many positions, including the role as the director of product management and business development. Considered an expert in the field of web performance, Poepsel has worked with Internet teams from leading brands such as Amazon, Best Buy, Expedia and USA Today. Before coming to Gomez, Poepsel served honorably for six years in the U.S. Marine Corps as an Arabic linguist. His extensive speaking experience includes presentations at Internet Retailer, Retail Business Show, Fusion CEO-CIO Symposium, and eTail.

Poepsel holds both an MBA and a master’s degree in management information systems from Boston University.
