Matthew Reeve  

Son of Christopher Reeve and serves on the Board of Directors of the Christopher & Dana Reeve Foundation

Matthew Reeve, son of Christopher Reeve and Gae Exton, joined the Board of Directors of the Christopher & Dana Reeve Foundation in 2006. Sharing his father's creative spirit, Matthew plays an active role at the Reeve Foundation, continuing its mission to find cures and treatments for spinal cord injury by funding innovative research, and improving the quality of life for people living with paralysis through grants, information and advocacy.

Matthew is a member of the Quality of Life Committee, which funds programs across the globe that help people living with paralysis become more fully integrated members of society. In this role, he follows in the footsteps of his stepmother, Dana Reeve, by reviewing and selecting grant requests from non-profit organizations that meet the unique and numerous needs of people living with disabilities.

A Brown University graduate, Matthew Reeve is an independent producer/director. His credits include the documentary Christopher Reeve: Hope in Motion (aka Christopher Reeve: Courageous Steps) which won the Communicator Award for Excellence in documentary filmmaking and was nominated for an EMMY, and its sequel Choosing Hope. He also produced the music video and short film Moving Along, directed and animated by Pat Smith, winner of numerous awards including the Jury Prize at the China International Cartoon Festival 2004. He recently completely his latest project, a documentary, Over the Water, a documentary, a film about World Champion kiteboarder Aaron Hadlow.
