Matthew Schwab is a 25 year-old North Carolina native who recently realized a life-long dream of living on his own, in an apartment with his younger brother. He graduated from Holly Springs High School in June 2017 with an Occupational Course of Study diploma, and in May 2019 completed an internship-based educational program, at Wake Technical Community College.

In addition to his public speaking business, MatthewSchwabSpeaks, Schwab works at 321 Coffee as a barista and coffee bean roaster, and at Ruckus Pizza, Pasta & Spirits. Schwab also volunteers with GiGi’s Playhouse, a Ds Achievement Center in Cary, NC, as an ambassador and on their Advisory Board.

In 2019, he gave a TEDx talk about the importance of employing those with IDD. He was recently interviewed by YouTube sensation Anthony Padilla for his “I Spent A Day With…” series. Schwab is passionate about raising awareness about Down syndrome, and the entire IDD community and he enjoys speaking to groups, large and small, about a variety of topics.
