Matthew St. Patrick
Mathew St. Patrick became part of the cast of All My Children in April 1998 as Adrian Sword, the enigmatic operative.
His final on-air appearance was October 31st, 2000.St. Patrick was born and raised in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. After high school graduation, St. Patrick moved to Chicago with a desire to play professional basketball and to model. A promising career in basketball was unfortunately cut short when St. Patrick suffered an injury that removed him from sports entirely. After a brief stint in modeling, he remained in Chicago, but began to work a series of unrelated jobs, taking positions in everything from carpentry to a route salesman for Coca-Cola Bottling Co.
A turning point came in 1995 when St. Patrick inadvertently won a role in a local, independently produced feature film. Initially cast in a supporting role, St. Patrick soon emerged as the lead. The project folded before it was completed, but a long-dormant interest in acting was awakened. Less than a week after the film closed down production, risk-taker St. Patrick boarded a plane bound for Los Angeles, leaving all his worldly possessions behind, never to look back.
In a short but illustrious two-and-a-half-year career, St. Patrick has made more than 20 appearances in film, television, on stage and in commercials. His most noted television appearances have been as a guest star on NYPD Blue opposite Jimmy Smits and Dennis Franz, as well as Diagnosis Murder with Dick Van Dyke and Victoria Rowell. St. Patrick also guest-starred on such hit series as Moesha and Beverly Hills, 90210. In addition to his work on television, St. Patrick has shared the screen with Billy Dee Williams, Gary Busey, Michael Madsen, Ice Cube and Bonnie Raitt. St. Patrick recently completed a successful stint on General Hospital in the recurring role of Detective Taggert, which led in part to his audition for and casting in the role of Adrian Sword on All My Children.
St. Patrick departed All My Children on Halloween 2000 so that he could move to the West Coast and take a part in the HBO series, "Six Feet Under." On the HBO series, St. Patrick plays a gay police officer involved in an interracial relationship.
His hobbies include horseback riding, music, reading, hiking and cooking.
