Organizational Leadership Change Agent; Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion Advocate; Mental Health Scholar and Practitioner

Matthw Vialva, LICSW is assistant director of field education and adjunct professor in the school of social work at Morgan State University. He is a proud alumnus of Hampton university having received his BA in Psychology, MSW in Clinical Social Work from Boston College, and is currently working on his doctorate degree in organizational leadership at Northeastern University.

He is a goal-oriented and empathetic leader who has spent over 10 years in the world of social services, on direct program design and delivery and on developing systems of support for students and families. He has counseled and taught students at the high school and collegiate level, successfully managing a college counseling department, developed a nonprofit program for teen fathers, and provided consulting and coaching support to administrators on mental health systems within a major metropolitan school district.

Vialva develops and facilitates curricula, workshops, training, and seminars for school districts, businesses, and non-profit organizations on topics involving emotional intelligence and effective leadership, diversity and inclusion (DEI), social justice in education and mental health, among others. He is a member of the national association of social workers (NASW) and is licensed as a licensed independent clinical social worker (LICSW) in the District of Columbia.

Additionally, Matthew has been a guest panelist speaker at noted universities including Boston College and Harvard University.
