Co-founder of Elevar Equity & Co-Managing Partner at The Rise Fund

Maya Chorengel is Co-Managing Partner at The Rise Fund, leading Impact and Financial Services. She has over two decades of private equity, venture capital and impact investing experience globally. Prior to joining TPG, she was a co-founder of Elevar Equity, a leading impact venture firm. She has worked in Hong Kong, Singapore, the Philippines, Indonesia, India, Great Britain and the US.

Prior to Elevar, she was Managing Director of the Dignity Fund, a private investment fund where she structured and completed local currency debt financing for 15 high-growth microfinance institutions in 4 continents. Chorengel also worked at Warburg Pincus, a leading global private equity investor. At Warburg Pincus, she was based in their New York, Hong Kong, and Menlo Park offices, investing in growth companies (including leveraged buyouts and post-Asian-crisis balance sheet restructurings) in a variety of industries.

Chorengel co-authored “Calculating the Value of Impact Investing,” published in the Harvard Business Review. She is a Director of TPG Inc., Little Leaf Farms, Benevity, Varo Bank, Nithio, SEO, and Kiva and serves on the Advisory Board of the Harvard Business School Social Enterprise Initiative. Chorengel graduated magna cum laude, Phi Beta Kappa, in Social Studies from Harvard University, and she received her MBA from Harvard Business School.
