Megyn Kelly

Former Host of "Megyn Kelly Today" & Former Fox News Anchor

Megyn Kelly began her career as a lawyer before changing course to become an assignment reporter in 2004. That same year, she was hired by the Fox News Channel as a Washington, D.C. correspondent. Quickly establishing herself as a competent reporter who was unafraid of asking difficult questions, Kelly catapulted to the media outlet's center stage. Kelly became co-anchor of "America’s Newsroom" in 2006, anchor of "America Live" in 2010 and anchor of "The Kelly File" in 2013. "The Kelly File" became one of the highest-rated cable news programs on television. In 2017, she left Fox to host "Megyn Kelly Today" on NBC, though the show was canceled in the fall of 2018.

During the 2012 and 2014 political seasons, Kelly served as co-anchor of FNC’s America’s Election HQ alongside Bret Baier. Throughout her tenure with FNC, Kelly has covered breaking news and has reported live from numerous political events. Some of the major stories she’s covered for the network include the 2013 government shutdown, the Boston Marathon bombing, the election of Pope Francis and the shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Connecticut. She also provided coverage of the deadly EF5 tornado in Joplin, M.O and the 2010 Deepwater Horizon oil spill. During her role as a correspondent, Kelly provided wall-to-wall coverage of the confirmation hearings for U.S. Supreme Court Justice Samuel A. Alito Jr. and Chief Justice John Roberts. In 2009 and 2010, she co-hosted FNC’s coverage of the confirmation hearings of Justices Sonia Sotomayor and Elena Kagan.

Already a national name, Kelly achieved a new level of fame when she challenged presidential hopeful Donald Trump during the August 2015 GOP debate by asking him to explain sexist comments he had made about women in the past. In 2014, Kelly was listed as one of TIME magazine’s 100 most influential people in the world.

Kelly resurfaced in October 2019 on Tucker Carlson Tonight to discuss NBC's handling of sexual assault allegations against former anchor Matt Lauer. Later in the year, Kelly was portrayed by Charlize Theron in "Bombshell," a drama about the culture of harassment and secrecy under Ailes during Kelly's time at Fox News.
