Megyn Kelly

Former Host of "Megyn Kelly Today" & Former Fox News Anchor

Megyn Kelly began her career as a lawyer before transitioning to the realm of journalism as an assignment reporter in 2004. That same year, she joined Fox News Channel as a Washington, D.C. correspondent. Quickly establishing herself as a skilled reporter who was unafraid to confront challenging questions, Kelly became a prominent figure within the network. In 2006, she became the co-anchor of "America’s Newsroom," followed by becoming the anchor of "America Live" in 2010, and subsequently the anchor of "The Kelly File" in 2013. "The Kelly File" ascended to become one of the highest-rated cable news programs on television. In January 2017, she left Fox to host "Megyn Kelly Today" on NBC. However, the show was canceled in October 2018.

During her tenure with Fox News Channel and NBC News, Kelly reported on numerous political events and breaking news stories. Some of the major stories she covered include the 2013 government shutdown, the Boston Marathon bombing, the election of Pope Francis, and the shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Connecticut. She provided coverage of the EF5 tornado in Joplin, M.O., and the 2010 Deepwater Horizon oil spill. As a correspondent, Kelly also covered the confirmation hearings for U.S. Supreme Court Justices Samuel A. Alito Jr., John Roberts, Sonia Sotomayor, and Elena Kagan.

Kelly achieved further recognition when she challenged presidential candidate Donald Trump during the August 2015 Republican Party presidential debate, questioning him about his past sexist remarks. In 2014, she was recognized in TIME magazine’s list of the 100 most influential people in the world. Kelly was the focus of media attention during the 2012 United States presidential election and was also instrumental in a significant year-to-year ratings increase at Fox News.

In October 2019, Kelly appeared on Tucker Carlson Tonight to discuss NBC's handling of sexual assault allegations against former anchor Matt Lauer. Later that year, she was portrayed by Charlize Theron in Bombshell, a film about the culture of harassment and secrecy during Kelly's time at Fox News. Kelly confirmed that she had experienced harassment from Fox News CEO Roger Ailes. Kelly's coverage of child abuse earned her an award from Childhelp, and she was also honored with an Alumni Achievement Award from Albany Law School. She was inducted into the Hall of Fame at Bethlehem Central High School.

Kelly has continued to remain active in the media landscape since leaving NBC. In 2020, she launched Devil May Care Media, her own media production company, and began hosting a podcast called "The Megyn Kelly Show." As of September 2021, the podcast moved to Sirius XM. She is currently working on a secret project with The Daily Wire and is set to star in a new adult animated comedy series called "Mr. Birchum." In December 2023, Kelly co-hosted the 4th Republican primary debate on NewsNation. In addition to her journalistic work, Kelly penned an autobiography titled "Settle for More," which was released in November 2016.
