Melissa A. Fabello

Politicized Sex & Relationships Educator

Melissa A. Fabello, PhD is a sex and relationships educator who uses her backgrounds in educational development, holistic life coaching, and sexology to help you be in right relationship to yourself and others through clarifying your values, owning your truth, and building new relational skills.

Fabello believes that relationships are political. And in her various educational work – through one-on-one coaching, social media, workshops and support groups, and writing – she makes it her goal to warmly, but firmly invite others into conversations around sexual and relational wellness that prioritize values alignment within a liberationist, abolitionist framework.

As a licensed educator with over 15 years of experience, Fabello's group presentations are created around participant-centered learning objectives. As such, her audiences leave her workshops not only with knowledge, but with tangible skill sets. Fabello has presented, to much praise, at The National Sexuality Education Conference, The Body Image and Self-Esteem Conference, The Center for Eating Disorders at Sheppard Pratt, Harvard University, and Oxford University, among dozens of other universities, organizations, conferences, and classrooms.

In a more traditional educational capacity, Fabello has recently taught Sex in the Media for Widener University and Social Action Writing for California State University.

Previously, Fabello worked as Managing Editor of Everyday Feminism, one of the world’s largest independent feminist media sites, with an audience of over seven million. There, she guided the organization – which was dedicated to helping people break down and stand up to oppression through the application of intersectional feminism in their daily lives – into a unique editorial style grounded in evidence-based educational practices.

Fabello holds a PhD in Human Sexuality Studies from Widener University, as well as two degrees in Education.
