Melody Hossaini is the Founder & CEO of InspirEngage International. Melody has reached over one million young people in over 100 countries. She is one of the leading youth sector figures in the UK with an equally strong profile globally.
Aged just 13, she helped establish a leading democratic youth organisation, and in 2005 made history becoming the first female (and ethnic minority) to be elected Chair of its Board of Trustees.
In 2009, Melody set up the social enterprise InspirEngage International, with £0 and a hotmail email account. InspirEngage’s central objective is to support young people and vulnerable women to develop the essential skills in order to be successful by giving back. Melody has designed the infamous ‘InspirEngage Bootcamps’ delivered worldwide with astounding results.
With 17 years experience in the youth sector, InspirEngage’s innovative services are the first of its kind in several parts of the world. Its work being fuelled by the inspiring young people it works with. Melody has championed young people, worked and been trained by Archbishop Desmond Tutu and former vice-president Al Gore. Last year, her work with the Commonwealth Heads of Government even featured on the Queen’s Christmas day speech.
In 2011, Melody beat 75,000 applicants to become one of the candidates on the world’s leading business programme, BBC 1’s ‘The Apprentice’, becoming the first ever Social Entrepreneur to have got onto the show with Lord Sugar describing her as “a woman of exceptional ability”.
Melody’s work and that of InspirEngage International has been recognised with several prestigious awards (Woman of the Future Awards 2008, Asian Woman of Achievement in 2009 and Volunteer of the year by the Home Office 20006), one of which was presented by Prince Charles in 2009.
Melody is a proud Ambassador for the Prince’s Trust, holds a 2:1 LLB Honours Law degree from Oxford Brookes University, has lived in four countries and speaks five different languages.

The story of the Asylum Seeker who Turned Award-winning Social Entrepreneur
Melody shares her own incredible story in a captivating and unforgettable way, sharing chapters such as being victim of racism, being held at gun-point, almost being kidnapped in UAE, becoming a co-founder of a national youth organisation aged 13, discussing the Iraq war with Tony Blair in his office to being the first social entrepreneur on BBC’s The Apprentice. But most importantly, what qualities and moments drove her to persevere and make her life about helping communities.
