Finding Your Zen and Staying True to Yourself in A Fast-Paced Society

If you're like me, if it's not in your planner, it doesn't happen! Whether it's work meetings, kids events, or social get-togethers, it can sometimes be tough to pack it all in while finding time for yourself AND remaining in a good place mentally and emotionally. It's important now more than ever to find that healthy work/life balance, and it is possible! If I can do it working at TV stations in some of the biggest cities in America, I am confident you can too.

In this session, I'll share with you my personal experience, lessons learned, and tips on how you can live your best life AND check off your daily list. At the end of the day, I want to leave you with a toolchest filled with techniques and ways you can feel accomplished every day while still remaining happy and in a mindset that's beneficial to not only yourself but those around you.

The Communication Chronicles: Taking Your Business to the Next Level with Successful Storytelling

Stories are part of our daily lives on so many different levels. We tell stories around the table over meals, with clients and colleagues at work, and with our friends and family members. By understanding the art of storytelling and how you can successfully use it when it comes to public and media relations, as well as with your clients, you can keep others engaged and leave them with the excitement of "what comes next" and feel at ease working with you.

As an award-winning journalist for 15+ years, I have had to tell some of the most complicated and complex stories. I faced many challenges trying to communicate important information from scientists, engineers, and astrophysicists (to name a few) into easy-to-understand and relatable stories. I also have worked with companies trying to sell their brand and present it to investors and clients in a way that's informational, engaging, and exciting. In this session, I will share with you personal experience and ways that I have turned the most complex information into a story that's understandable for all ages and backgrounds.

Overcoming Adversity and Leaving Your Legacy in the Stars

In order to succeed, we must at some point fail and overcome what sometimes can seem like the impossible to rise above. As a victim of bullying and verbal and emotional abuse, I've been through some very tough storms in life that made me feel lost or unable to move forward. There are challenges we face that can make us feel alone, and at times, leave us sitting at rock bottom, struggling to stand back up. Your feelings are valid, but they do not define you moving forward and there is sunshine after every storm that sometimes you have to wait for or keep your focus on even during the darkest times.

As a public figure and TV personality, I've had to wear a mask so many times to get through the day, and find ways to survive and move forward in life even when I felt lost on my journey. Through this session, we will talk about the storms we face, how to overcome them, and how to keep gratitude and faith through the entire process.

How to Survive and Thrive in the TV Business

Thinking about a career in the media? Just starting off in the business or looking for some advice on what to expect at your next station? Working for both national and local stations, I've seen in all in the past 15+ years from the good to the bad to the downright ugly.

I was once in your shoes -- as a college student with big dreams and a young meteorologist and journalist with goals to work in the Big Apple someday. Through the twist and turns, and ups and downs in my career, I was able to successfully make it to New York City and fulfill my dream working in my hometown of Cleveland, OH. Through this session, we go over what you need to know working in the broadcasting industry, and ways to succeed even when at times you will fail.

Changing Careers: Saying YES to Yourself and Stepping Into The Unknown

For 15+ years, being a broadcasting meteorologist and journalist was all that I knew, and all that I thought I wanted to be. But from changes in the business to negative and toxic experiences in the workplace to sacrificing everything with little to no work/life balance, there was a point in my life that changed my thinking and life goals wanting so much more for myself.

Making the transition into another career is not easy at all, especially deciding to work for yourself versus in the corporate world. While it's scary at times, it is possible to successfully navigate down a different path and I would love to share with you my journey to creating a better life for myself and putting myself in a healthier and happier mindset. The first step is terrifying, but the next door you step through can be so rewarding, so let me help you through my experience with tips and ways you can try something new, and in the end, choose YOU!
