Earlier today, Michael Conlan claimed at least bronze on a unanimous decision over Denmark’s Frederik Jensen – 30-27,30-27,30-27.

Conlan and Walsh have now qualified outright for October’s World Elite Championships and Olympic qualifiers in Qatar, although Conlan has already secured an Olympic quota place through the World Series of Boxing.

Adam Nolan and Joe Ward will be in action later this afternoon. Nolan will be in the ring at approximately 6pm, followed by Ward at approximately 6.45pm.

The semi-finals and finals will be held on Friday and Saturday.
