Dr. Michel Dugon is a zoologist specializing in the evolution and development of venom systems. Since 2017, he has been a lecturer in the Zoology department at NUI Galway. In 2015, Dugon was awarded the National Teching Award in Higher Education and in 2017 he won the Ryan Award for Innovation.

He is the founder and director of Eco Explorers, a science outreach. In October 2018, he gave a TED talk titled "The secrets of spider venom."
