Michelle Aguilar

Winner of NBC's "The Biggest Loser" Season 6, Author, Motivational Speaker

Michelle Aguilar entered The Biggest Loser looking to lose weight and resurrect her relationship with her mother. She emerged a champion on both levels. Aguilar was crowned The Biggest Loser: Families champion during the NBC reality weight-loss series' sixth season.

The 26-year-old assistant director from Ft. Worth, TX started the competition at 242 pounds and lost 110 pounds for a 45.45% weight-loss percentage, claiming the show's $250,000 grand prize.

Aguilar’s journey began at the age of 18, when she received a phone call at work from her mother, saying she was divorcing her father. Aguilar felt somehow responsible, and that there was something wrong with her. She began to internalize the pain, becoming estranged from her mother and ceasing all communication for 6 years.

As Aguilar became more depressed, she began using food as a coping device, all the while concealing her pain and guilt to the outside world behind her beautiful smile.

Through the advice of a friend, Aguilar and her father auditioned for The Biggest Loser. Weeks later, Aguilar was called back to audition for Season 6, when her father suggested she invite her mother. Both Aguilar and her mother went on to become contestants of Season 6, during which Aguilar learned that forgiveness is possible, thus beginning the healing process.

Aguilar has since been featured in numerous magazines and has worked with the “got milk?” advertising campaign.

Today, she is a speaker for the Women of Faith Tour and author of the book, Becoming Fearless: My Ongoing Journey of Learning to Trust God. Aguilar resides in Texas with her husband, Micah.
