Stand-Up Comedian, Actor & Host Known for "The Circle," "Always Be My Maybe" & "Welcome to Buteaupia"; Podcast Co-Host, "Adulting"; Author, "Survival of the Thickest"

Born in New Jersey to Caribbean parents, comedian, host, and performer Michelle Buteau brings a cheeky swagger, unique perspective, and big personality to the stage and screen. Not only is she known for her roles in "Always Be My Maybe" alongside Ali Wong and Randall Park, "Isn't It Romantic?," and "Enlisted," she is also recognized as host of the popular reality TV show "The Circle" on Netflix.

Beyond her acting roles, Buteau has made a name for herself in the world of stand-up comedy, performing at colleges, clubs, and comedy festivals across the country. Her stand-up performances have led to appearances on "The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson," "Lopez Tonight," "Last Comic Standing," and the success of her own comedy special, "Michelle Buteau: Welcome to Buteaupia," which earned her a 2021 Critics' Choice Television Award for Best Comedy Special.

Buteau has also been featured in Comedy Central's "Premium Blend" and Paramount Comedy Network's "The World Stands Up" show, and was a favorite at the Bumbershoot Arts Festival. Television audiences have also enjoyed her appearances in HGTV's "25 Worst Mistakes" series, MTV's "Walk of Shame," and the Oxygen Network's "Kiss & Tell" series.

In 2020, Buteau expanded her repertoire by publishing her first book, a collection of personal essays entitled "Survival of the Thickest." This memoir was not only covered in an article by Black Girl Nerds, but was also adapted into a successful TV series that premiered on Netflix in 2023. In addition to her thriving on-screen and literary career, Buteau also hosts the podcast "Adulting" with co-host Jordan Carlos and is currently involved in upcoming film projects, including an R-rated animated movie directed by Genndy Tartakovsky titled "Fixed" for New Line Cinema and a movie directed by Pamela Adlon.
