Corporate Responsibility Expert; President, The Long-Term Stock Exchange; Former Member of White House Council on Women and Girls

Michelle Greene is an expert in corporate responsibility and the intersection of the corporate, social, and government sectors in helping to solve our most challenging social problems, with special focus on women's leadership and financial inclusion. She is a Capstone workshop adviser and a faculty member of the Gender & Public Policy Program at Columbia University’s School of International and Public Affairs.

Ms. Greene has served as a member of the Advisory Board of the World Economic Forum’s Women Leaders and Gender Parity Program, and on the Obama Administration’s White House Council on Women and Girls. Ms. Greene also has been a member of the U.S. National Advisory Board to the G8 Social Impact Investment Task Force, the World Economic Forum’s Financial Inclusion Steering Committee and a co-leader of the Financial Inclusion Working Group for the CGI-America.

Ms. Greene’s private sector experience has included serving as Head of Corporate Responsibility for NYSE Euronext, and as Executive Director and a Board Member of the NYSE Euronext Foundation, which focused its giving on economic empowerment, entrepreneurship, and financial literacy. In her CR role, Ms. Greene developed, launched and oversaw the company’s global corporate responsibility program, including establishing “collaborative responsibility” initiatives that promoted cooperation among NYSElisted companies on issues of common interest. Ms. Greene previously worked as a consultant at McKinsey & Co., Inc. in New York and as a corporate attorney in Washington, DC. She also served as the Executive Director of the Carr Center for Human Rights Policy at the Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University.

Ms. Greene’s government experience has included serving as Deputy Assistant Secretary for Financial Education and Financial Access at the U.S. Department of the Treasury during the Obama Administration, where she also served as Executive Director of the President’s Advisory Council on Financial Literacy. She began her service in the Obama Administration as a Senior Advisor in Domestic Finance focused on the financial crisis. Previously, Ms. Greene had served at the Treasury Department as Senior Policy Advisor to the Assistant Secretary for Financial Markets during the Clinton Administration.

Ms. Greene is on the Boards of Directors of CFED, a leading nonprofit focused on creating economic opportunity to alleviate poverty, and of Junior Achievement – NY. She serves on the Advisory Boards of Cornerstone Capital, Net Impact, and Tomorrow’s Company.

Ms. Greene received her J.D. from Harvard Law School and her A.B. from Dartmouth College.
