Michelle Nelson, President and Founder of Back 2 Basics Marketing, has spent the past 21 years learning about consumer mindsets and the most effective advertising and marketing methods to reach them.

Michelle has worked for Fortune 100 and 500 Marketing companies, including an event company, direct mail company, ad agency and was founder of the Outdoor Experience show. Michelle’s expertise lies in increasing revenue through direct marketing to new and existing customers, developing key relationships, and creative marketing through web design, collateral materials and direct marketing efforts. Through her years of experience, Michelle has learned that customers do in fact, need to come first.

In 2007, dreaming of again owning her own marketing company, Michelle visited the St. Louis area and after doing extensive research on local businesses she realized that there was not a marketing communications company that tailored its services to both small and large businesses in the areas of marketing. After much thought, she decided to go for it and went back to her hometown of Peoria, IL, packed up her son, dog and cat, and settled in St. Charles County.  That year, with less than $300.00 to her name, Michelle founded Back 2 Basics Marketing.

By creating Back 2 Basics Marketing, Michelle was out to spread her message about the best ways to gain customer trust and return business. Back 2 Basics Marketing is dedicated to delivering successful marketing strategies for businesses without the process, layers and 3-hour meetings. Michelle offers her clientele full service marketing, specializing in advertising, public relations, web and graphic design and as well as event coordination. Today, Back 2 Basics Marketing has over 250 clients nationwide with an office in St. Louis, Missouri
