Mike Krieger is a Brazilian-born American entrepreneur and software engineer who co-founded Instagram along with Kevin Systrom in mid-2010. They both designed & developed the application, and then Mike led the Instagram engineering team into a 450+ person organization, now within FB. In 2018, Mike announced that he was leaving Instagram.

Prior to founding Instagram, he worked at Meebo as a user experience designer and front-end engineer. During his undergraduate studies, Krieger interned at Microsoft's PowerPoint team as a Project Manager and at Foxmarks (now Xmarks) as a software developer. Michael Krieger graduated from Stanford University, where he studied Symbolic Systems with a focus in Human-Computer Interaction. Krieger wrote his Master's thesis on how user interfaces can better support collaboration on a large scale.
