Former Chairman and CEO, J.Crew Group, Inc.

Millard Drexler has been chairman and CEO of J.Crew Group, Inc. since January 2003. Under Drexler's leadership, J.Crew has become a leading global specialty retailer, known for its dedication to quality, design, innovation and customer service. J.Crew sells men's, women's and children's apparel, shoes and accessories. The company operates more than 300 retail stores and an e-commerce business that ships to more than 100 countries. In 2006, Drexler founded Madewell, a casual denim-based collection for women. Before J.Crew, Drexler spent 18 years at Gap, Inc., where he became president in 1987 and CEO in 1995. During this time, he created Old Navy and Gap Kids. Drexler served as president and CEO of Ann Taylor from 1980 to 1986. Born and raised in the Bronx, he began his career at Bloomingdale's in 1968. Drexler serves as a director on the boards of Apple Inc. and Teach for America, a nonprofit organization for educational opportunity.
