Milton Garces

The Milton Garces keynotes explore the intriguing sounds that occur in the natural world. In particular, he provides audiences with an unique audio perspective into earthquakes and tsunamis through a variety of his recordings.

Garces is currently the Director, Founder and Associate Researcher at Infrasound Laboratory at the University of Hawaii's Institute of Geophysics and Planetology. Prior to this position, he held a position as an Assistant Researcher at the Institute of Geophysics and Planetology and a visiting professor at the Kyoto University.

Garces's work was featured on PBS and National Geographic, as well as in publications including 'BBC World' and 'The Economist.' With an avid passion for sound and sound studies, the Milton Garces keynotes encourage individuals to experience the audio of the world not just the visual.
