Ming Jack Po  

MD / PhD Student,Columbia University

Jack is currently a MD (expected 2015) / PhD (expected 2012) student at Columbia University in the city of New York. Jack has over a dozen reviewed publications in biomedical imaging and is a frequent reviewer for many publications in his field. He is currently also co-leading a new effort at EMBS to create a series of initiatives to improve interdisciplinary collaborations between physicians, engineers and industry. As part of this effort, he is serving as Program Chair of the 2012 Healthcare Innovation Conference and is helping to launch a new academic journal titled ?Journal of Translational Engineering in Health and Medicine?. Besides his work in entrepreneurship and Healthcare, Jack is well known for his work in education. He founded the Baltimore County Math Team in 2002 and In 2007, co-founded the New York Math Circle, a nonprofit that has rapidly grown in the metropolitan NYC area providing math enrichment opportunities for middle school and high school students, and middle school and high school teachers. The program is considered a model for math enrichment programs nationwide. He was a 2011 InSITE fellow, as well as a 2011 Fellow in the Startup Leadership Program.
