Ming Zeng    

Chief Strategy Office of Alibaba Group

Ming Zeng is the Chief Strategy Officer of Alibaba Group. He has been in this role since January 2008. Previously, he was Executive Vice President of Strategy. He also served as president of China Yahoo! and was Professor of Strategy at Cheung Kong Graduate School of Business.

Zeng is the author of the book "Smart Business: What Alibaba's Success Reveals about the Future of Strategy". The book explains how technological developments have changed business' approach to strategy and the different practices Zeng's team used at Alibaba.

Zeng has been published in the world's top management journals including Academy of Management Review, Organization Science, and Harvard Business Review. His research has been featured in The Wall Street Journal, The Economist, and BBC.

He received his bachelor's degree from Fudan University and his doctorate from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
