Mohamed A. Ibrahim, PhD, PE is an engineer in New York State. He is a Fellow of the IEEE for his contributions to the field of protection and control.

Dr. Ibrahim has held positions at Helwan University and Mansoura University and has lectured at Auburn University and Washington State University. He is a visiting research engineer for the Civil & Urban Engineering department at Polytechnic Institue of New York University.

Dr. Ibrahim retired in 2004 as the director of protection and control at the New York Power Authority. Currently, he is a Project Engineer for the MTA-NYC Transit system. Ibrahim, reviews and approves designs of structures and their construction impact on NYCT underground or elevated structures due to proximity in all five boroughs of NYC.

He is the author or coauthor of twenty-five technical papers on computer relaying and protection areas.
