Moj Mahdara, CEO of Beautycon Media, has built the company into a globally-recognized community for Gen Z and Millennial content creators, celebrities, fans, and brands, providing them with a space to come together celebrating all things style and beauty. Mahdara, an entrepreneur interested in staying ahead of the curve, has continued to invest in a handful start-ups. Mahdara’s successes have been nationally recognized, being named in Cosmopolitan and Marie Clarie’s “Top Female” lists in 2015, as well as Fast Company’s 2016 “Most Creative People” list, THR’s 2016 “Top 25 Most Powerful Digital Players” and WWD’s 2017 Digital Power Posse list.

Since its inception in 2014, Beautycon Media has grown incredibly under the direction of CEO Moj Mahdara, an entrepreneur in the entertainment, digital, and technology fields. Once a convention local to LA, Mahdara steered the it into a globally-recognized community for Gen Z and Millennial content creators, fans, celebrities, and brands, providing them with a space to come together and celebrate all things style and beauty.

Beautycon Media weaves meaningful connections through this community with an innovative three-pronged business strategy: Beautycon Festivals, Beautycon Box, and Beautycon Digital.

Mahdara also successfully raised angel investment funding, brought the Beautycon Box to market, and has forged partnerships with CAA, Built By Girls (AOL's Venture Fund), L’Oréal, Hearst Media, Jay Brown, Allen DeBevoise (Third Wave Partners), Bethany Mota, and more. Beautycon Media also had the honor of curating the first-ever Creator Town Hall for Hillary Clinton.

Prior to Beautycon Media, Mahdara served as CEO of Exopolis, a digital interactive studio where she developed an extensive client list, including Apple and Microsoft. Her direction also led to the company growing from 4 employees to over 100.


Mahdara has also invested in several businesses and has served as advisor to a number of prominent companies, including Warby Parker. Mahdara’s successes have been nationally recognized, being named one of Cosmopolitan’s “Fun & Fearless Women Who Will Totally Inspire You,” Marie Claire’s “50 Most Influential Women in America,” The Hollywood Reporter’s “Silicon Beach 25: L.A.’s Most Powerful Digital Players,” and Fast Company’s “Most Creative People in Business 2016.” 

In addition to Beautycon Media, Mahdara also currently sits as chairperson of Made With Elastic, an entertainment consultancy firm she launched in 2011, which boasts such clients as BMW, Levi’s, and Motorola.


Mahdara resides in Los Angeles with her partner, Roya and their Airdale Terrier, Sufi.
