Climate Tech Investor; Founder & CEO of Molly Wood Media; Host of the "Everybody in the Pool" Podcast

Molly Wood is a journalist who transitioned into the role of a climate tech investor. She is the founder and CEO of Molly Wood Media, a climate solutions media company. Prior to this, she held the position of managing director at LAUNCH, an early-stage venture capital firm, and is currently a venture partner at the investment firm Amasia, where she scouts and advises climate tech startups.

Having studied journalism at the University of Montana, Wood began her career at the Associated Press before moving into technology journalism. She rose to prominence while working at CNET/CBS from 2000 to 2013, where she co-hosted the "Buzz Out Loud" podcast, among other shows. This was one of the first commercially successful podcasts, launched in 2005.

In 2014, Wood joined The New York Times as a deputy technology editor and later became a tech correspondent and backup host for the US public radio program "Marketplace." In addition to her correspondent role, she co-hosted the "Make Me Smart" and "Marketplace Tech" podcasts and developed and launched other video series and original podcasts at CNET/CBS, the New York Times, and Marketplace.

Wood left Marketplace in 2021 to join Launch, a venture capital firm, as a podcaster and investor. She continued her journey in the venture capital sector until March 2023, when she founded Molly Wood Media. In her current role, Wood hosts the podcast "Everybody in the Pool," which focuses on startups, business practices, and everyday consumers working on climate crisis solutions.
