Mona Sutphen is a former White House Deputy Chief of Staff for Policy under President Obama and has over two decades of experience working with Fortune 500 multinationals, institutional investors, and philanthropies at the intersection of politics, policy, and markets. Currently, she serves as a senior advisor at The Vistria Group, focusing on sectors like healthcare, education, and financial services. Her insights are invaluable for business leaders dealing with complex risks and navigating change management globally.

Previously, Sutphen was a Partner at Macro Advisory Partners, where she led the firm’s U.S. practice. She also held the position of Managing Director at UBS AG. Earlier in her career, she was a career diplomat, stationed in Asia, Europe, and at the United Nations. She has served on the National Security Council during the Clinton administration and at the U.S. Mission to the UN from 1991 to 2000. Sutphen's extensive background in international relations is complemented by her current roles on various boards, including Pioneer Natural Resources, Pattern Energy, and previously Spotify and Putnam Mutual Funds. She is also involved with non-profit organizations such as the International Rescue Committee and Human Rights First.

Sutphen holds a B.A. in International Relations from Mount Holyoke College and an M.Sc. from the London School of Economics. She is a Trustee of Mount Holyoke College and contributes to the advisory board of the Center for Global Energy Policy at Columbia University. An author of "The Next American Century," she co-founded a blockchain trading protocol named Hashflow and continues to provide insights into various sectors including cryptocurrency, global energy markets, and the future of capitalism. Sutphen is also a member of the Council on Foreign Relations, and she speaks on topics such as Business Communications, Corporate Culture, Economics, Finance, Global Leadership, and Women in Business, showcasing her broad expertise and commitment to fostering systemic change.
