With her experience as a professional athlete, Olympic medalist and fitness model (No7 cosmetics commercial), Monica is very comfortable in front of an audience and on camera. Monica is a Penn State graduate who has a lot to offer emerging graduates, fired up to chase their dreams. Monica has fought hard for her success in sport – she embodies the perseverance, discipline, work ethic and character of a leader and she has a powerful message to share with other young adults.

American Fencer Monica Aksamit is a 2016 Rio Olympic Bronze Medalist & 2019 Pan American Gold Medalist. Fencing is one of only 4 sports to have been on every modern Olympic program since 1896. There are three forms of modern fencing, each using a different kind of weapon. Monica specializes in women’s saber and she is targeting both individual and team qualification for the 2020 Tokyo Olympics – where she hopes to bring home Olympic Gold. In January 2020, Monica earned a gold medal at the USA Fencing North American Cup (NAC) in Charlotte, NC. This is an Olympic qualifying series so Monica’s recent win mean’s she is well-positioned for a successful season.

Monika was born in New York, but she has Polish roots and can read, write and speak Polish. Monica began fencing at age 9 and she is a three-time All-American. Monica balances strength/gym training in NJ with commutes to New York City for fencing practice at the Manhattan Fencing Center. Monica is a business savvy Penn State graduate with a love of fitness and competition. She maintains a robust social media presence and uses her platform to promote women in sport and animal rescue.
