Monica Garrison

Founder and Chief Storyteller at Black Girls Do Bike

Monica Garrison is the founder of Black Girls Do Bike, which is on a simple mission to change black women's lives through outdoor activity and community. Garrison grew up cycling as a recreational activity, but in 2013, she returned to her bike for a different reason. The group has grown to over 100 chapters in the U.S. and amassed a large social media following and received sponsorship from Trek and REI.

A photographer and videographer by profession, Garrison began her organization as a way to get back into a childhood hobby, biking. As the non-profit grew in size, it became much more than that. This organization arms black women with the confidence to bike freely and to affect biking initiatives in their own hometowns. Garrison attended Robert Moore University.
