Basketball Analyst for ESPN & the MSG Network

Monica McNutt is a basketball analyst, host, and reporter based in New York City. She joined ESPN in 2019 as an ACC Network studio and game analyst. In 2021, her role expanded to include Sportscenter, Around the Horn, First Take and NBA Today. She is also a host and analyst on ESPN’s WNBA and Women’s College Basketball studio coverage. McNutt served as a reporter during the 2022 NBA Finals on ESPN and ESPN Radio and on ABC’s coverage of the 2022 NBA Draft. She has also contributed to HoopStreams, ESPN’s digital NBA pregame show.

In addition to her ESPN duties, McNutt is a studio analyst for the New York Knicks and hosts MSG PM on MSG Networks. She has appeared on Fox Sports 1, CBS Sports Network, Turner/NBA TV, and was involved in NBC’s coverage of the Summer Olympics in 2021. She also cohosts The Jr. NBA Coaches Corner Podcast and the SALA Series Podcast, which presents conversations with leaders across industries.

“I have found that getting to do multiple things makes you better at all things,” McNutt told the Washington Post in February 2020. She is proud of her multiple roles in the media landscape and embraces the digital space. Above all, she is proud to be an example to young women and offer her perspective in daily sports conversations.

Her past stops include WJLA ABC7 in Washington, D.C., The American Sports Network, BeIN Sports and NBC Sports Washington. McNutt earned her master’s degree in journalism from The University of Maryland in 2013. She earned a bachelor’s degree and completed a career as a standout women’s basketball player at Georgetown University in 2011. She was born and raised in Prince George’s County, Maryland.
