Daniel Karpantschof has been working with innovation and operations for public, private and civil society organizations for more than fifteen years. He was previously a member of several sub-cabinet level committees in the Danish government (including the Council on European Policies, the Board of Education and the Committee for Judicial Oversight), acted as Danish representative to several General Conferences of the United Nations Science, Education and Culture Organization (UNESCO) and the UN World Summits of Information Society (WSIS).

At age 15 Karpantschof co-created an online gaming platform with a chain of co-brand gaming cafes. At 16 he had launched a cell phone service provider. At 18 had a screenplay nominated for Palm d’Or. By 23 he co-created Europe's first supplier of 100% clean and renewable energy. A year later a consulting house specializing in gender equality in executive management. And at 26 co-founded a global community of young philanthropists and social entrepreneurs.

He has served on a number of private and public advisory boards, including Copenhagen Institute for Futures Studies, Danish Evaluation Institute and Copenhagen – The Thinking City and was declared part of Denmark’s “New Elite” by leading Scandinavian think-tank, Monday Morning, Summer of 2013.

June 2009 he moved from Copenhagen to DC, where he co-founded the the Nexus: Global Youth Summit, and in 2011 relocated to New York, and started working for The Economist. In 2013 he left The Economist Group Ideas Lab in order to serve as Head of Global Affairs of what was then known as Sandbox..
