Co-Founder, Souktel Mobile Phone Services

Jacob Korenblum is a co-founder and current president of Souktel Inc., the Middle East’s first service that uses cell phone technology to connect job-seekers with employers, and link communities with emergency aid.

Born in Canada, he now manages Souktel’s operations from Ramallah, Palestine. Jacob holds an Ed.M. from Harvard University, where he also served as a Harvard Reynolds Foundation Fellow in Social Enterprise from 2005-06.

Previously, he has co-managed economic growth projects for contractors to the US Agency for International Development (USAID) and the Canadian International Development Agency (CIDA.) A fluent speaker of Arabic, Jacob has worked in the economic growth and emergency aid sectors in the Middle East, East Africa, and South Asia. His work as a Souktel co-founder has been profiled by CNBC, PBS, the New York Times, Reuters, and Scientific American.
