Taalib Johnson, better known by the stage name Musiq Soulchild, is a singer and songwriter whose style blends R&B, soul and hip-hop influences.

Hailing from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Soulchild rose to prominence in the early 2000s as a leading figure in the neo-soul movement. He has released several successful platinum and gold-selling albums, including his debut album, "Aijuswanaseing" and its follow-up "Juslisen." Over the years, he has continued to release successful albums, such as "Victims and Villains," "Soulstar," and "Luvanmusiq," earning critical acclaim and a dedicated fan base.

He has been nominated for 13 Grammy awards, five BET awards (of which he won one for "Best Male R&B Artist"), and a 2002 ASCAP Award.

Earlier in his career, Soulchild guest starred as himself in the UPN sitcom "Half and Half" and The CW comedy "The Game." He also released a book on love and relationships, titled "143 – Love According To Musiq".
