Mwata Dyson

Health & Wellness Advocate and Journalist.

Dr. Mwata Dyson is a health and wellness news correspondent covering a broad range of national and global issues. He has delivered informative reports on topics such as obesity, heart disease, drug abuse, healthcare reform, children's health, and the health effects of environmental toxicity. His career in journalism began when he became the chief medical correspondent with the ABC TV network morning show Sonoran Living in Phoenix; he can currently be seen reporting in-depth reports for ABC, CBS, CNN, and MSNBC, among other media outlets.

As a child, Dyson knew that he wanted to help people live healthy and happy lives. In pursuit of his mission, he went to medical school and completed a residency in anesthesiology at The University of Illinois at Chicago. Practicing medicine in both private and academic medical centers, he grew sympathetic to the lack of training physicians have in nutrition, exercise, and public health. Not afraid to reinvent himself, he returned to academia to pursue his Executive MPH at Columbia University's Mailman School of Public Health. He now leads the charge to empower people toward making informed healthcare decisions. He challenges those afraid to take risks and live out their dreams.

Mwata also volunteers his expertise to nonprofit organizations that donate time and resources to those individuals in need of assistance. He is an active participant in delivering free medical services to children and their family members in the United States and abroad.
