Nadia Giosia

Celebrity Chef, Comedian & Punk Rock Singer; Star of "Nadia G's Bitchin' Kitchen"

Nadia Giosia is a celebrity chef, comedian and punk rock singer from Canada. She is the former host of the web series turned television show called Nadia G.'s Bitchin' Kitchen on the Cooking Channel. Following the show, she starred in a new series on the Cooking Channel called Bite This with Nadia G. In 2015, she launchd a feminist rock, comedy and food festival in LA called Riot Grill.

In addition to Bitchin' Kitchen, the world's first made-for-mobile cooking show, Giosia has starred in a number of other cooking shows. In 2013 she appeared in season three of Chopped All-Stars and in 2014 she was a participant in Food Network's Cutthroat Kitchen Superstar Sabotage. She has also appeared on Bizarre Foods with Andrew Zimmern and Iron Chef America.

Trained at the Culinary Institute of Hard Wooden Spoon Whacks, Giosia grew up in a boisterous Italian family that never quite gave up the belief that Casalinga-style cuisine is the center of the universe. Her recipes are influenced by the food she grew up eating and the local cuisine of her hometown, Montreal, Canada.

Giosia owes her cooking prowess to her Italian heritage and her comedic timing to a previous career as a sketch comic in Montréal. "I grew up in an Italian family where food was always the centre of attention," she says. "And, in true Italian fashion, my parents ran a catering company for many years. When I got into comedy, I really started missing the food." So Giosia created Bitchin' Kitchen, a hybrid cooking show and comedy routine. She aptly describes her unique culinary style as "punk Italian fusion," which relies upon fresh organic ingredients, simple techniques and natural presentation on the plate.

Giosia is currently the lead singer for the punk rock girl band "The Menstruators." The band was formed in 2013 and regularly plays in dive bars around Los Angeles. In 2016, the band made a short comedy "rockumentary" featuring commentary from the band members and fans.
