President and CEO of Carilion Clinic

Nancy Howell Agee is the President and CEO of Carilion Clinic. Carilion is an integrated healthcare organization serving Western Virginia. Carilion includes a multi-specialty physician group, eight hospitals, the Jefferson College of Health Sciences and a joint ventured Medical School with Virginia Tech. Carilion is dedicated to quality healthcare and inspiring good health throughout the region.

Agee began her career in Nursing and has served in various management roles with Carilion over the past 20 years. In 1996, she was appointed vice president and has gradually assumed increasing administrative and executive leadership roles. She holds degrees with honors from the University of Virginia and Emory University and participated in postgraduate studies at the Kellogg School of Business, Northwestern University. Agee supports many professional and community activities. She is a member of the Boards of the Roanoke Gas Company, Virginia Tech Carilion School of Medicine and Mill Mountain Theatre.

She served on the Radford University Board of Visitors and the Virginia Hospital and Healthcare Association and the Foundation of Roanoke Valley, having chaired both organizations. Since assuming the CEO position of Carilion Clinic, Nancy has been asked to serve on the Boards of HomeTown Bank and Solstas Lab, She is a member of the Board of Commissioners, The Joint Commission - the preeminent organization that accredits hospitals and healthcare organizations’ quality worldwide. Agee lives in Salem, Virginia with her husband, Steve.
