Nancy Wolk
CIO Alcoa, Inc.
Nancy Wolk was appointed Alcoa’s Chief Information Officer in December 2011. In this role, she oversees global IT policy, strategy and execution. This entails leading an IT modernization strategy that includes major upgrades to the company’s ERP system, mobility programs such as BYOD (bring-your-own-device), cloud implementation, cyber security initiatives, and enhanced analytics that inform and improve the decision-making process. Nancy also has worked to effectively raise the IT organization’s visibility throughout Alcoa by bringing technology issues and solutions to the forefront of Executive Committee and Board of Directors discussions.
Previously, as CIO of Global Business Services (GBS), Nancy led the GBS-IT organization which is responsible for operating business systems via hardware, software and services, as well as telecommunications and data center infrastructure.
Since joining Alcoa in 1990, Nancy has held roles of increasing importance in the IT organization. As CIO of Alcoa Europe and of Global Rolled Products, she led IT expansions in Europe, Russia, and China, gaining valuable international and business perspectives. Nancy has been deeply involved in implementing Alcoa’s Enterprise Business Systems, a broad range of strategic, financial and operational management processes, and dramatically improving the efficiency of Alcoa’s IT operations through consolidation and off-shoring, making it possible to maintain benchmark operations.
Prior to joining Alcoa, Nancy worked for Westinghouse Electric Corporation in Pittsburgh, implementing computing applications and customer solutions.
Nancy graduated from Carnegie Mellon University with a double major in Applied Mathematics and Administration & Management Sciences. Throughout her career, she’s served as a mentor to up-and-coming IT leaders. An active member of the Alcoa Women’s Network (AWN), Nancy served as the co-chair of the global AWN board from 2008 to 2010.
