Professional Soccer Player for the United States Women's National Team & San Diego Wave FC

Naomi Girma is an American professional soccer player who plays as a defender for San Diego Wave FC in the National Women's Soccer League (NWSL) and the United States national team. She was the No. 1 overall pick of the 2022 NWSL Draft.

Girma has represented the United States on the under-17, under-19 and under-20 national teams, and was named U.S. Soccer Young Female Player of the Year in 2020. In 2019, she captained the Stanford Cardinal to win the Women's College Cup.

In 2020, Girma won 2020 U.S. Soccer Young Female Player of the Year honors. She was named NWSL Defender of the Year and NWSL Rookie of the Year in 2022.

In June 2023, Girma was named to the US squad for the 2023 FIFA Women's World Cup in Australia and New Zealand.
